A Grant County High School teacher is facing eight felony charges after being accused of having a sexual relationship with a student.

Kendall Burk, 23, a science teacher, admitted to having sexual contact with a 15-year-old student on four occasions over the summer. She was arrested after school administrators alerted police. Burk told authorities the encounters happened at her home and in her car.

Burk began her teaching career at Grant County in 2018. She has been “removed from her duties,” according to Superintendent Matthew Morgan.

Burk was arrested and charged with four counts of third-degree rape and four counts of sodomy. She was lodged in the Grant County Detention Center. She is no longer listed as an inmate at the facility.
