The Allen County man accused of raping and killing a seven-year-old girl in November 2015 has pled guilty to two charges and entered an Alford plea to two other charges.

In entering an Alford plea, Timothy Madden, 42, of Scottsville, does not admit guilt but says there is enough evidence to convict him at trial. Madden entered the plea to rape and sodomy charges. He pled guilty to murder and kidnapping, according to media reports.

Madden murdered Gabbi Doolin at a youth league football game on November 14, 2015 on the Allen County-Scottsville High School campus. Her lifeless body was found in a creek after being reported missing only 30 minutes earlier.

Investigators arrested Madden about a week after the murder following confirmation that his DNA was at the scene of the crime.

In pleading guilty, Madden avoids a possible death sentence in exchange for serving life without the possibility of parole. His trial was scheduled to begin the first week of September.

He will be formally sentenced in late October.
