The Scottsville Police Department has released an extraordinary video from an officer’s body camera showing the officer reviving a 19-month-old baby.

In a Facebook post, the department said the “Scottsville Police Department is constantly conducting training so we may better serve our community. Just two weeks ago we conducted our re-certification training for CPR/first aid. This training paid off on Wednesday, August 21 at 05:03 a.m., when Scottsville 9-1-1 received a call from 517 E. Poplar Street advising a 19-month-old child was not breathing.”

Sgt. James Talbott , Officer John Williams and Allen County Deputy Brandon Lovett responded to call, with Talbott immediately starting CPR and first aid to clear the child’s airway as the child, Aiden King, was “turning blue and was cold to the touch when the officers arrived on scene,” police said.

Talbott was able to clear Aiden’s airway, allowing the baby to breathe on his on before EMS arrived. The child was transported to TJ Sampson Community Hospital by Allen County EMS before being transferred to Vanderbilt University Medical Center.

Aiden was released from the hospital later that evening.

Police said Aiden’s parents, Nicholas and Misty King, signed consent for Scottsville police to release Talbott’s body cam video.
