(Leitchfield, KY) – There’s a slate full of events this Saturday, leading into next week’s HoneyFest, and on is the crowning of the HoneyFest Queen this weekend.  Take a look over the next seven days events in Grayson County. Saturday, Sept. 21st

American Legion Post #81 3rd Annual Car and Bike Show

The American Legion Post #81 3rd Annual Car and Bike Show will take place from 8:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. (415 Lee Ave., Leitchfield) This is one of the AL’s yearly fundraisers. All proceeds from this are used to help with the Veterans and their families, whether it be with providing coats at the coat drive, food for the Christmas baskets, Shop with a Veteran at Christmas, buying supplies to put in care packages that we ship to our deployed soldiers.

Book Bingo at GC Public Library

The GC Public Library will host “Book Bingo” from 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. (163 Carroll Gibson Bvld. Leitchfield)  This is a free event and you play to win books.

HoneyFest Beauty Pageant

The HoneyFest Beauty Pageant will be held on Saturday, Sept. 21st at Clarkson Elementary School.  Registration begins at 10:00 a.m. and pageants begin at 11:00 a.m.  Entry fee is $40 per contestant, and ages birth to 21 years old are welcome to compete.  All proceeds benefit the Clarkson Fire Department.

Battle of the Corporate Cup

The 2019 Battle of the Corporate Cup will be held on Saturday, Sept. 21st at 10:00 a.m.  All businesses are invited to put together a team and register for a day full of fun.  Contact Leitchfield Parks & Rec to register (270) 2259-4034 ext 443.

Ice Cream Social and Gospel Music

New Harvest Baptist Church will be having an ice cream social with special music by The Edwards Family on Saturday, September 21st from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.  Everyone welcome.  For more information call 270-879-3103.

Grayson County Touch-A-Truck

The 2nd Annual Grayson County Touch-A-Truck will take place at the GC Fairgrounds on Saturday, September 21st from 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.  The event is free admission.

Benefit Auction and Dinner for Steve and Candy Bird

There will be a benefit auction and dinner for Steve and Candy Bird on Saturday, September 21st at the Millwood Community Center. A yard sale begins at 7:00 a.m. BBQ meal begins at 5:00 p.m. and auction begins at 6:00 p.m.

Grayson County Bluegrass Opry

The Grayson County Bluegrass Opry will perform on Saturday, Sept. 21st at 6:00 p.m. in the Grayson County Government Building, third floor in the old courtroom.

GCHS Class of 1989 30th Class Reunion

Caneyville Community Club Monthly Meeting

The Caneyville Community Club’s January meeting will be held on Monday Sept. 23rd at 6:00 p.m. at the Purple Flash Center. We will hold officer elections at that time. Everyone is welcomed. Wednesday, Sept. 25th

Farmer’s Market WIC & Senior Voucher Day

The Grayson County Farmer’s Market will accept WIC and Senior Vouchers on Wednesday, September 25th.  The market is setup on this day at the Grayson County Health Department back parking lot from 8:00 a.m. – Noon.

Clarkson HoneyFest

The Clarkson HoneyFest gets underway with the Decorating Contest on Wednesday, Sept. 25th at 2:00 p.m.  The Carnival rides begin at 5:00 p.m. ($10 armbands), Amateur Pet Show (Bank of Clarkson parking lot) at 5:30 p.m., and the HoneyFest 5K Race & Walk begins at 6:00 p.m. (Clarkson City Park).  The HoneyFest events will continue through Saturday, Sept. 28th.

Evergreen pass times:

The skate park, basketball courts, and the Taylor Fork Trail is always a free option, and while you’re in the area, the Grayson County Public Library is another free option for all ages to enjoy.

The new playground at James D. Beville Park is now opened.  There is a walking path at this park, and a picnic pavilion and restrooms.

The Ronald H. Hudson Fire Station playground and splash pads are free.  There is a walking path at this park, and a picnic pavilion and restrooms.

The Ed  Nichols Nature Trail in Clarkson is another free option.
