The search continues for a Louisville woman missing in the U.S. Virgin Islands.

Lucy Schuhmann, 48, was reported missing on Thursday, September 19. According to a press release distributed by Virgin Islands National Park, Schuhmann did not check out of her lodging in Coral Bay, on St. John, as her belongings were in her room. Her rental Jeep was found in a parking area in Virgin Islands National Park.

Search crews scoured the area and found Schuhmann’s day pack on a trail, but officials said the find offered little information regarding her whereabouts. The U.S. Coast Guard joined the search on Monday.

Complicating and adding an increased sense of urgency in finding Schuhmann, a Tropical Storm Warning has been issued for the Virgin Islands as Tropical Storm Karen approaches. The storm is expected to make landfall on the Virgin Islands Tuesday night, according to the National Hurricane Center.
