Two Elizabethtown teenagers have been charged with first-degree robbery after stealing an Xbox One gaming system at gunpoint.

On Saturday, the Elizabethtown Police Department arrested 18-year-old Kevin Estes and his girlfriend, 18-year-old Jaelyn Pepper, after the suspects met the male victim on Diecks Drive under the guise of purchasing the gaming system and several games.

Estes told the victim, according to a report in The News-Enterprise, that he was going to keep the games without paying, and when the victim demanded the merchandise back, Estes pulled a gun out of his jacket and pointed it at the man. The victim then left the area and reported the crime.

Police arrived and viewed surveillance video of the area and observed the two suspects carrying the gaming system and games out of an apartment in the same bag the victim described to police.

A search of Estes’ apartment also revealed methamphetamine, with police finding scales and marijuana inside his vehicle.

Estes was charged with first-degree robbery, trafficking in a controlled substance (methamphetamine), possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of marijuana. Pepper was charged with first-degree robbery and tampering with physical evidence.

Both were lodged in the Hardin County Detention Center on $75,000 bonds.
