
A body found in the Ohio River near Prospect, just north of Louisville, has been identified as the former owner of a NASCAR team.
The body of a man found in the river Tuesday evening at approximately 6:20 has been identified as 68-year-old Lonnie Troxell, of Louisville, according to media reports. He owned the Mighty Motorsports team in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series from 2000 to 2005. His team fielded the No. 93 Chevrolet for driver Wayne Edwards. He later owned a construction company.
Troxell, who lived on a houseboat at the Captain’s Quarter’s marina, was last seen alive about 3:00 Tuesday afternoon. He lived at the marina for 25 years.
Police have not said whether foul play is suspected.
Authorities continue to investigate.
