On Thursday, Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center presented a donation of $100,000 to support the University Center at Elizabethtown Community and Technical College (ECTC).
“The TLRMC Board of Directors sees our contribution to the University Center Project as a long-term investment in our staff and community,” said Wayne Meriwether, CEO of Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center. “The University Center will be a wonderful opportunity for the residents of Grayson County to receive a high quality, affordable education without having to travel a great distance. It is our hope that this will translate into more individuals choosing to stay in Grayson County to serve the healthcare needs of our community.”
The University Center makes higher education more accessible and affordable, offering four year transitional programs that align with the needs of the region’s employers. For example, Spalding University will offer a Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
“Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center has always been a valuable partner to ECTC, and we appreciate their belief in the transformative potential of this project,” said Dr. Juston Pate, ECTC President/CEO. “We look forward to supporting their continued growth by expanding the local educational opportunities available to our community. Whether students pursue careers in nursing or the variety of support functions needed to operate a regional medical system like Twin Lakes, we are proud to know our collaboration will have a positive and lasting impact on Grayson County.”
