Two people have been killed, a teenager and elderly female, in a crash Monday morning near Central Hardin High School.

Elizabethtown police said Monday morning at approximately 11:00, 17-year-old John “J.T.” Wiglesworth, of Cecilia, was traveling west in a Chevrolet Cobalt in the 2600 block of Hwy 62 (Leitchfield Road) when the vehicle began skidding. The car entered the eastbound lanes where the Cobalt struck a Chevrolet Venture minivan, being driven by 79-year-old Louise Pullen, of Elizabethtown.

Both Wiglesworth and Pullen perished in the wreck and were pronounced dead at the scene by the Hardin County Coroner’s Office.

The area experienced heavy rain Monday morning but police said it was too early in the investigation to determine whether road conditions were instrumental in the crash.

Wiglesworth, who was a senior at Central Hardin High School, was traveling between Hardin County Schools’ Early College and Career Center and the high school when the crash occurred, according to The News-Enterprise.

Pullen was a former school bus driver for Hardin County Schools.
