A former Miss Kentucky from Ohio County, who taught middle school in West Virginia, has pled guilty to a child porn charge.
Ramsey C. Bearse, 29, of Kanawah County, West Virginia (formerly of Hartford), pled guilty to possession of material depicting minors in sexually explicit conduct, according to media reports. She faces two years in prison at her formal sentencing in January.
She was arrested in December 2018 and charged with four counts of distribution or display of obscene matter to a minor.
Bearse was crowned Miss Kentucky in 2014.
The criminal complaint filed against Bearse said the mother of the 15-year-old boy discovered topless photos of Bearse on her son’s cellphone. The boy attended Andrew Jackson Middle School, in Cross Lanes, West Virginia, in the sixth through eighth grades where Bearse was a teacher for at least part of those three years, according to the complaint.
Investigators met with Bearse and she admitted to sending the photos to the boy via Snapchat from August 2018 until October 2018. The boy was 14 when Bearse first sent the photos.
