The male juvenile and 18-year-old man involved in a high-speed pursuit beginning in Caneyville and ending in Morgantown also robbed a convenience store in Ohio County.

As previously reported by K105, on Sunday, Grayson County Sheriff’s Office Sgt. Fred Norder pursued a stolen Honda Accord from Caney Creek Apartments in Caneyville to the 400 block of Hwy 79 (Caneyville) in Morgantown. The pursuit began when GPS located the stolen Honda at the apartment complex. The vehicle was stolen out of Hartford, according to police.

After an officer with the Morgantown Police Department brought the chase to an end with a PIT maneuver, the two men in the car, Aaron Crowe and a male juvenile, fled the vehicle.

Norder chased down Crowe, with the suspect fighting with the deputy, causing Norder to suffer an ankle injury and broken finger. The juvenile was quickly captured by Morgantown police and a Butler County deputy.

The Ohio County Sheriff’s Office now says that Crowe robbed Cromwell Market (in the 6000 block of Hwy 231) Saturday night at approximately 8:20.

While investigating the robbery, Ohio County deputies determined that Crowe was the male seen in the store video surveillance system.

On the night of the robbery, Ohio County Sheriff Tracy Beatty said, “A white male entered the market and retrieved a large wooden instrument from the back of the store and approached the clerk at the register.”

The suspect then demanded money and used the wooden weapon as a threat to obtain cash from the register. After taking the money, Crowe fled the store and entered a passenger car, believed to be the stolen Honda, and being driven by the same male juvenile who led Norder on the high-speed pursuit.

When questioned about the robbery by Ohio County authorities at the Grayson County Detention Center, Crowe, who has ties to Scottsville, Beaver Dam and Hopkinsville, admitted to committing the crime, according to Beatty.

In addition to the multitude of felony charges the pair already face, both suspects have additionally been charged with first-degree robbery.

Crowe remains in the Grayson County Detention Center while the juvenile is lodged in a juvenile detention center in Bowling Green.
