18 cases of coronavirus diagnosed in Kentucky

There are now 18 people in Kentucky who have tested positive for coronavirus (COVID-19).

Gov. Andy Beshear offered an update Saturday night with the new figures, adding that one of the patients, a woman, is in “bad shape” and “might not make it.” Conversely, one of the first patients diagnosed in Kentucky has been released from Albert B. Chandler Hospital in Lexington.

Six cases have been diagnosed Harrison County, four in Jefferson, five in Fayette, one in Bourbon, one in Montgomery, and one in Nelson. The results of 31 tests are pending. Of the four newly diagnosed patients, two are in Fayette County while Jefferson and Nelson counties have one new COVID-19 diagnosis each.

Below is a rundown of COVID-19 cases in the state:

Bourbon County: 66-year-old man

Fayette County: 40-year-old man, 46-year-old man, 31-year-old woman, with two cases unidentified.

Harrison County: 27-year-old woman, 67-year old woman, 54-year-old woman, 68-year-old man, 60-year-old man, 51-year-old man.

Jefferson County: 69-year-old man, 68-year-old woman, 80-year-old woman, and one unknown positive case.

Montgomery County: 56-year-old man.

Nelson County: 53-year-old man.
