3 new COVID-19 cases in Grayson County, including first Spring View Nursing & Rehab employee

Three new coronavirus (COVID-19) cases have been confirmed in Grayson County since Friday afternoon.

Judge-Executive Kevin Henderson made the announcement at his briefing on Monday. The three cases increase the county’s COVID-19 total to 96.

The three new cases include a 32-year-old woman, a 27-year-old man who works at Perdue Farms in Ohio County, and the first Spring View Nursing & Rehabilitation staff member, a 29-year-old woman.

No new deaths were reported by Henderson.

Of Grayson County’s 96 confirmed cases of the virus, 44 are residents of Grayson Nursing & Rehabilitation while 16 are staff members. Spring View Nursing & Rehabilitation has had 12 residents test positive along with one employee.

In total, 73 (76 percent) of the county’s 96 COVID-19 cases are tied to the county’s two nursing homes, while five Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center employees have tested positive for the virus.

A total of 722 tests have been administered in Grayson County with 581 of the tests returned negative. Forty-five test results are pending, and 36 (38.7 percent) victims have recovered from the virus.

The county has reported six COVID-19 deaths, all residents of Grayson Nursing & Rehabilitation.
