The Elizabethtown Police Department continues to investigate a double homicide that occurred Wednesday.

Elizabethtown police responded to the 100 block of Patterson Street Wednesday afternoon at 4:40 and found two men and a woman inside a vehicle suffering from gunshot wounds.

The men, 32-year-old Shawn Fox and 37-year-old Michael B. Thomas, both of Hopkinsville, were pronounced dead at the scene. The unnamed female, who also does not reside in Elizabethtown, was transported to University of Louisville Hospital in critical condition.

No arrests have been made.

The shooting happened at an apartment complex on Stewart Court, which intersects with Patterson Street, in a densely residential neighborhood. The female victim then drove a short distance through several yards and to a driveway on Patterson Street before stopping.

While many questions remain regarding the murders, Elizabethtown Police Department spokesman Chris Denham told The News-Enterprise on Thursday that the shooting was an “isolated” incident and that there is no danger to the community.
