A Lexington man has been arrested and accused of killing two people in Elizabethtown nearly two weeks ago.
The Versailles Police Department arrested 27-year-old Taynandree Reed on Thursday as he walked out of a Kroger store. He was wanted by the Elizabethtown Police Department for the shooting deaths of 32-year-old Shawn Fox and 37-year-old Michael Buckner, both of Hopkinsville.
The murders occurred on the afternoon of May 13, with Elizabethtown police identifying Reed as the prime suspect within 24 hours of the killings, according to media reports.
An unidentified female was also shot and transported to University of Louisville Hospital in critical condition.
The shooting occurred while the three victims sat in a vehicle outside an apartment complex on Stewart Street. After the shooting, the female driver traveled a short distance through several lawns to a driveway in the 100 block of Patterson Street, where police discovered the three victims.
Reed has been charged with two counts of murder, first-degree assault and first-degree robbery. He is lodged in the Hardin County Detention Center on a $500,000 cash bond.
Police have not released information on what led up to the shooting or why the four people involved were in Elizabethtown.
