A man is behind bars after trying to toss his mother off a second story balcony.

Trevor Taylor, 29, of Mayfield, was arrested on attempted murder and other charges on Saturday.

The Mayfield Police Department was dispatched to a disturbance in the 200 block of North 5th Street and discovered that Taylor had entered his mother’s apartment, assaulted her and told her he was gong to kill her, according to WestKentuckyStar.com.

Taylor then forced his mother out of her apartment and attempted to throw her off a balcony. The suspect fled the area but police spotted him nearby, as he ran from officers. He was caught after a brief foot pursuit.

Taylor was upset with his mother because he thought she had talked to law enforcement about him. At the time he assaulted his mother, he was wanted on a fourth-degree assault warrant.

He was lodged in the Graves County Jail where charged with attempted murder (domestic violence), another count of fourth-degree assault and fleeing or evading police on foot.
