Those awaiting election results for the June 23 Primary Election will call no joy on election night, as the results will not be known for up to a week after election day.

With the vast majority of votes being cast as mail-in absentee ballots due to the coronavirus pandemic, Secretary of State Michael Adams said Thursday that Kentucky voters will likely have only minimal election results available on election night. The decisions regarding when to release the results of the election will be made by local election officials from Kentucky’s 120 counties.

Adams noted that some counties will wait until all votes are counted before releasing any results, while other counties will release results as they become available.

Grayson County Clerk Charlotte Willis said her office will release voting results on June 30, one week after the election.
