The Twin Lakes Humane Society (TLHS) has announced an initiative to build a dog park inside Beville Park.
Diana Glasscock, president of the TLHS, said in a Facebook post that, “Leitchfield Parks and Recreation, Leitchfield Animal Shelter, Twin Lakes Humane Society, and several animal lovers in Grayson County are in the process of creating a dog park in James D. Beville Park, in memory of Jenna Glasscock,” who passed away in October 2017.
Glasscock said the “largest expense of this project will be the cost of fencing,” as the facility will have two areas, one for large dogs and another for smaller breeds.
Other items needing sponsorship are benches, gates, a water fountain, gravel, and concrete, according to Glasscock.
“The park will be created solely on donations and sponsorships,” Glasscock noted. “Taxpayer money will not be used, so we’re asking for your help! Donations of any size will be accepted in addition to the options below:
- Gold Sponsor: $500
- Silver Sponsor: $250
- Bronze Sponsor: $100
If you choose to be a Gold, Silver, or Bronze sponsor, a plaque of appreciation with your name, your business name, or your dog’s name will be posted at the entrance of the dog park.
All donations are tax exempt and checks can be made out to Twin Lakes Humane Society and mailed to: TLHS, P.O. Box 157, Leitchfield, KY 42755, or dropped off at the Leitchfield Animal Shelter.
“We are excited about this great addition to our community,” Glasscock said. “More info to come as well as fundraising events.”
