A Lexington teenager has been charged with manslaughter after accidentally killing his friend as the two handled a firearm.
Jarred Lockard, 19, accidentally shot and killed 19-year-old Patrick H. Stover Sunday night at about 10:45 at a residence on Centre Parkway.
“Lockard admitted to shooting Stover while the two were handling a firearm,” Lexington police spokeswoman Brenna Angel told news outlets on Monday. “He remained at the scene and was taken into custody without incident.”
Lockard was charged with second-degree manslaughter and lodged in the Fayette County Detention Center.
