A Caneyville man has been arrested for pointing a handgun at a U.S. Census Bureau worker.
Saturday afternoon at approximately 2:30, Grayson County Sheriff’s Office Sgt. Fred Norder and Deputy Jason Luedke were dispatched to the 400 block of South Main Street in Caneyville.
Upon making contact with the female census worker who had driven to the Caneyville Post Office after the incident, she told deputies as she arrived at the residence to conduct the survey, she was “immediately confronted” by 29-year-old Barry A. Mosley, “who was immediately hostile towards her,” according to the arrest citation.
When the worker told Mosley she was only at the home to perform a short interview to for the 2020 census, Mosley said that it was “none of her f— business,” and to get off his property.
The victim began walking back to her vehicle, which she entered, with Mosely walking to his truck and retrieving a handgun, the citation states. He removed the gun from its holster and cocked the firearm. Mosley then made his way to his front porch, with the gun pointed at the victim’s vehicle, according to the citation.
During the investigation, police seized a Glock 9mm handgun and Fobus holster.
Mosley was arrested and charged with first-degree wanton endangerment, menacing and obstructing governmental operations. He was lodged in the Grayson County Detention Center but is no longer listed as an inmate.
