A "Senior Parade" to kick-off the school year in Allen County ended up sending two senior students to the hospital.

The Scottsville Police Department, which provided an escort for the parade, said two female high school students were taken to the hospital after they fell out of the back of a truck Thursday morning. The pickup truck was being driven by a senior student, according to a report by WBKO.com.

Police said as the parade approached the Scottsville Town Square, there were kids sitting on the bed-rails of the vehicle, and as the truck made a turn, two of the female students fell off and struck the pavement.

The injured girls were transported to The Medical Center for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

Superintendent Randall Jackson said the "Senior Parade" is not a school sponsored event.
