After having two staff members recently test positive for coronavirus, a resident of Grayson Nursing & Rehabilitation (GNR) has also tested positive for the virus, according to the Kentucky Department for Public Health.

K105 reported last week that two staff members of the facility had recently tested positive; those cases are listed as “active” by the KDPH. The newest resident to test positive, also listed by health officials as an “active” case, brings the total to 48 of the long-term care facility’s residents to contract COVID-19.

Of those 48 infections, 39 have recovered and eight residents have died after being diagnosed with the virus.

A total of 21 GNR’s staff members have tested positive for the virus, with 19 of those victims recovered.

Grayson County’s other nursing home, Spring View Nursing & Rehabilitation, has not had a positive case diagnosed in several weeks. Since the onset of the pandemic, Spring View has had 28 residents and 14 staff members test positive, with two resident deaths blamed on COVID-19.
