The owners of two Louisville restaurants are offering free food in return for MAGA hats and other Donald Trump apparel.
On Saturday, Troy King and his wife, Selena Johnson, owners of Six Forks Burger Company, on Preston Highway, and Pollo – A Gourmet Chicken Joint, on Brownsboro Road, made the offer via Facebook where they wrote, “We at Pollo – A Gourmet Chicken Joint are proud to say that we were in full support of Joe Biden and Kamala Harris’ campaign. But, we feel compelled to extend and olive branch to those who supported Donald J. Trump in his unsuccessful bid for reelection.”
Anyone who turns in Trump hats, flags and t-shirts will result in “free lil cheeseburger and fries” at Six Forks Burger Company or a free entrée and side at Pollo.

Therefore, POLLO – A GOURMET CHICKEN JOINT located at 1991 Brownsboro rd., Louisville, Kentucky will be giving a free entree, free side and free soft drink to anyone who wants to turn in their useless TRUMP merchandise. That’s right bring us those TRUMP HATS, TRUMP FLAGS, TRUMP T-SHIRTS and receive a free entree, free side and free soft drink. This promotion will run from today, Saturday, Nov. 7th until Wednesday, Nov. 11th. No need to let all of that merchandise go to waste, lol.
In an update on Pollo’s Facebook page only a short time after posting the offer, King and Johnson said they received their first threat:
We just received our first threat this morning in response to this post/offer. First of all, we expected our offer would ruffle a few feathers, but our offer was an sincere olive branch. We strongly feel now is the time to reach out to those who think different than the other and we all come together and figure out as Americans what we want the future to look like. Second, the coward obviously doesn’t know us, because after opening a restaurant on one of the hottest corners on Louisville, known for drugs and prostitution, we were threatened everyday for the first few months after opening. We didn’t back down then, we won’t be doing so now. So, that being said we are doubling down on our offer. The offer now is as follows: Six Forks Burger Company will be giving away a free lil cheeseburger and fries to whomever brings in Trump merchandise (must be a hat, t-shirt or flag) and at POLLO – a gourmet chicken joint we will be offering a free entree and a side, but here is the real kicker. Instead of the offer ending Wednesday, like we originally planned , these offers are now good for the rest of the month of November.
The offer ends on Wednesday, November 11.
