A Hardin County man has been jailed after being accused of strangling a woman during a domestic assault.
Brian E. Napier, 37, of Elizabethtown, was charged with first-degree strangulation, a felony, after being accused of assaulting a woman as she got out of a shower, according to a report by The News-Enterprise.
The woman told police Napier put her in a choke hold from behind and took her down to the ground. He continued to choke the victim once she was on the ground, the newspaper reports, as she nearly lost consciousness. Napier is accused of then slapping the victim to make her get up off the ground.
The suspect was arrested Sunday and lodged in the Hardin County Detention Center on a $10,000 bond, and additionally charged with fourth-degree assault (domestic violence).
