A Hardin County man is the third suspect arrested for a violent kidnapping and robbery that occurred in late December.

The Elizabethtown Police Department arrested 39-year-old Henry Lee Bester, of Elizabethtown, and charged him with first-degree robbery and complicity to kidnapping. He was arrested Wednesday afternoon. The Hardin County Sheriff’s Office issued the arrest warrant earlier this month.

Bester, according to a report by The News-Enterprise, brought a man to a location on Sonora-Hardin Springs Road on December 26. When Bester arrived with the victim, the man was struck in the head with a pistol as the suspects demanded money.

The victim was then taken, in Bester’s vehicle, to his grandparents’ residence where the man obtained money for the suspects. As the assailants drove the victim to the home, he had a gun pointed at his head and his life was threatened.

The other two suspects in the kidnapping and robbery, 41-year-old Derrick Newkirk, of Elizabethtown, and 38-year-pold Joshua Skillman, of Big Clifty, were arrested on December 27.

Newkirk and Skillman also face robbery and kidnapping charges. All three suspects are lodged in the Hardin County Detention Center.
