One person has been killed and two injured in a single-vehicle accident in Edmonson County.
Kentucky State Police responded to the accident at approximately 4:00 Friday afternoon in the 6000 block of Hwy 259.
Police said the preliminary investigation revealed 65-year-old Marshall T. Hornback, of Mammoth Cave, was driving a 1994 Chevrolet truck north on Hwy 259 when, unknown reasons, the truck exited the right shoulder of the roadway and struck a tree.
He pronounced dead at the scene by the Edmonson County Coroner’s Office.
Two passengers, 35-year-old Quentin A. Hornback and 62-year-old Martha Hornback, both of Mammoth Cave, were injured in the accident. Quentin Hornback was transported to The Medical Center at Bowling Green while Martha Hornback was airlifted to University of Louisville Hospital.
This accident marks the third fatal car accident in Edmonson County in a little over three weeks: On March 29, a Louisville woman was killed in an accident on Hwy 259 in Bee Spring and on April 3, an elderly Smiths Grove woman was killed on Hwy 259 in Chalybeate.
