Two more of Grayson County’s Most Wanted have been captured.

William O. Logsdon, 53, who was wanted for possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, receiving stolen property (under $500), possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine), trafficking in marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia, was arrested Saturday near Short Creek by Grayson County Deputy Sean Fentress.

He was lodged in the Grayson County Detention Center. He’s being held on a $10,000 cash bond.

Gary “Patches” Hockenbury, 45, turned himself in to the Grayson County Sheriff’s Office last week. He was wanted for first-degree burglary and third-degree terroristic threatening. He was lodged in the Grayson County Detention Center but has since been released.

These two suspects mark the 24th and 25th Most Wanted suspects captured since the Most Wanted program expanded in March of this year. Sheriff Norman Chaffins was effusive in his praise of the citizens of Grayson County and their response to the program, as he gave citizens praise for the difference-making assists they have given law enforcement in capturing so many wanted persons.

“Early on in my first term as Grayson County sheriff, I wanted to find a way to reduce the number of wanted persons whose warrants and summons lined the back wall of our office,” Chaffins said. “

In addition, we wanted the public to be able to play a role in the apprehension of these persons by setting up a reporting solution on our website where they could remain anonymous, or by simply calling our dispatch while keeping their anonymity.

“So far our efforts, along with the public’s assistance, have nabbed 25-plus wanted persons since its inception of March 2021,” Chaffins added. “This number does not include the hundreds of tips and arrests we receive before we started the Most Wanted program.

“I am so proud to serve as Grayson County sheriff because most all of our citizens want exactly the same thing my deputies and I want — to make Grayson County a safer place for everyone to live. And our citizens are not afraid to help us by reporting on those that try to take advantage of our most vulnerable. As my mom used to say to me, ‘The proof is in the pudding.’ The proof that our Most Wanted list works is in the 25 wanted criminals we have arrested as a result of their tips. Thanks GC!!!”
