Carmel Leo Clemons, age 82, of Leitchfield, KY, passed away Friday, (October 1, 2021) at Springview Nursing and Rehab in Leitchfield.

He was born on April 13, 1939 in Grayson County, KY, the son of the late Arthur and Elsie Hill Clemons.

A veteran of the U.S. Army, Carmel was a farmer and a truck driver who enjoyed playing cards. He was a member of the St. Anthony Catholic Church and a member and former board member of the American Legion Post #81.

He is survived by his sons, Keith Clemons, Brent Clemons and Chad Clemons, all of Leitchfield; a daughter, Julie Clemons, also of Leitchfield; two grandchildren, Jadah Clemons and Jocey Stinnett; three brothers, Randall Clemons (Judy), Joe Larry Clemons and Russell Clemons (Dorette) all of Leitchfield; four sisters, Coreen Moore (Ervin) and Stella McClure (Louie) both of Leitchfield, Faye Milliner (Martin) of Big Clifty, and Karen Herrick of Elizabethtown; and two sisters-in-law, Judy Clemons of Clarkson, KY and Cathy Clemons of Leitchfield. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Cheryl Harp Clemons, and three brothers, Lawrence, Tommy and Carlos Clemons.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, (October 12, 2021) at the St. Anthony Catholic Church in Clarkson. Father Brandon Williams will be officiating. Burial will be in the St. Anthony Cemetery.

Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday and from 9:00 a.m. Tuesday until 10:45 a.m., at which time services will move to St. Anthony.

The family requests that all those who attend the visitation and the funeral service wear a mask.
