
Gov. Andy Beshear on Wednesday reported 1,702 new COVID cases and 20 deaths.
Of the new cases, 495 (29.1 percent) are children 18-years-old and younger. The new cases increase the total number of cases in Kentucky to 739,863.
The 20 new deaths raise the state’s death toll to 9,685 (1.3 percent fatality rate).
The positivity rate is 5.56 percent, down from 5.66 percent on Wednesday.
Officials said 869 people are hospitalized, down 24 from Tuesday, with 276 patients in ICUs, up 10 from Tuesday. There are 145 people on ventilators, down three from Tuesday.
