A St. Paul home has been destroyed by a fire.

Friday night at approximately 11:00, the East Grayson, Clarkson and Leitchfield Fire Departments responded to the 100 block of Coy Drane Road after neighbors reported a home fully engulfed in flames.

Upon firefighters arriving, the wood-frame home was already partially on the ground, as the standing structure continued to rage.

The homeowner was visiting someone nearby and was alerted to the fire by a friend. He arrived at the home and pulled a non-operational truck, parked near the residence, away from the home. The homeowner told K105 that he had only purchased the home about four months ago and was working on making improvements to the property.

“So much for that,” he said.

Firefighters battled the blaze for well about two hours, but the home was a total loss.

The quick response by all three agencies likely saved two nearby structures and several trees from suffering fire damage.

After conducting a thorough overhaul (checking the former residence to ensure no hot spots remained), East Grayson fire personnel cleared the scene a few minutes after 2:00 Saturday morning.

No injuries were reported.
