The Grayson County Sheriff’s Office has announced its latest list of Most Wanted suspects.
Anyone with knowledge of the location of any of the 10 Most Wanted is asked to contact the Grayson County Sheriff’s Office at 270-259-3024 or your local law enforcement agency.
Daniel Lee Portman, 42 (featured in headline photo): Wanted for two counts of fleeing or evading police (motor vehicle, on foot), resisting arrest, reckless driving, and first-degree persistent felony offender.
In April 2020, Portman led the Grayson County Sheriff’s Office, Leitchfield Police Department and Kentucky State Police on a long and winding pursuit during the early morning hours. The chase began in Leitchfield before ending on Dickeys Mill Road after Portman crashed into several trees. He fled on foot but was quickly caught.
Portman was convicted of felony fleeing or evading police in Grayson County in September 2017, according to the Kentucky Department of Corrections, and again in January 2019. The second conviction was enhanced by Portman being a persistent felony offender.
He is on parole until May 2026.
Jeffrey M. Mudd, 55: Wanted for trafficking in a controlled substance (methamphetamine), possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine), possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Ernest Hurn, 40: Wanted for trafficking in a controlled substance, prescription controlled substance not in its proper container and possession of marijuana.
Justin C. Bowlds, 24: Wanted for first-degree assault and DUI (aggravating circumstances).
William “Billy” Winchell, 30: Wanted for possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine), possession of a controlled substance, prescription controlled substance not in its proper container, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Scotty Lee Clemons, 44: Wanted for possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine), possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Benjamin Lee Higdon, 44: Wanted for leaving the scene of an accident (death or serious physical injury) and first-degree persistent felony offender.
John Whitehead, 22: Wanted for third-degree burglary.
Sammy G. Brooks, 55: Wanted for trafficking in marijuana (more than five pounds), possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Christian A. Goostree, 25: Wanted for possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine) and possession of drug paraphernalia.
