Surrounded by family and love, Joan Annette Hall Bitsky, age 43, of Leitchfield, KY, and took her final journey on Thursday (December 30, 2021) in Owensboro, KY.

Joan was born on May 22, 1978 to Debra Schooler Mattingly and James Hall Sr. in Elizabethtown, KY.  In her career, she earned her contractor’s license and worked for Heartland Electric. Though her true passion was leading recovery support groups and being a sponsor for countless lives on their recovering journeys.

With a larger-than-life personality, Joan could always be found in the spotlight whether it was acting in the Pine Knob Community Theatre, singing karaoke, or telling a great joke or story.  She was known for her sense of humor, infectious laughter, and a heart that loved relentlessly.  When she wasn’t shopping for her next “spotlight” outfit and jewelry, she could be found hunting arrowheads with her family.  She also ascribed to the Baptist faith.

She is survived by her three sons; Masen Hughes (Mamie), Noah Hughes, and baby Liam; her mother Debbie Mattingly and stepfather Tommy Mattingly; her father James Hall Sr.; her grandfather Harold Hall, five sisters; Jennifer Richardson (Dennis), Jill Day (Aaron), Jamie Brown (Dustin), Jacy Hall, and Tiffany Mattingly; five brothers; James Hall Jr. (Michelle), Jason Hall (Devon), Justin Hall (Jayme), Coty Mattingly (Destiny), and Cody Hall (Taylor).  She is also survived by one aunt, Allison (Chris); two uncles, Donnie Hall (Anna) and Gary Schooler (Sherry); Masen and Noah’s grandfather, Les Hughes; one friend and companion, Terry Ping; as well as many nieces and nephews, cousins, friends, and sponsors.

She was preceded in death by one brother Matthew Hall; one aunt, Stacy Hall; and her grandparents, Katherine Probus Schooler, James Schooler, and Frances Smith Hall.
