The body of a Butler County man missing since early January has been found.
The body of 54-year-old Dana Cardwell Jr. was found Monday in a pond on Big Oak Lane, according to Beech Tree News, about three miles north of Morgantown off Hwy 70. He had last been seen at his home on McKendree Chapel Road on January 2.
The Butler County Sheriff’s Office told the news outlet that an autopsy was conducted at the state Medical Examiner’s office Tuesday morning, with the preliminary autopsy results indicating Cardwell died of hypothermia.
The Butler County Sheriff’s Office, Kentucky State Police, Kentucky Fish & Wildlife, and the Butler County Coroner’s Office are leading the death investigation.
