Bridge work in Hardin County will result in a nine-mile section of the Western Kentucky Parkway being closed.

According Kentucky Transportation Cabinet spokesman Chris Jessie, the parkway will be closed between the 124- and 133-mile markers while crews conduct demolition work on the bridge.

The closures are expected to take place Wednesday through Friday between 9:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m., Jessie said.

Signs will be in place indicating a detour, as motorists traveling west will take Exit 133 to Hwy 62 to Hwy 84 to rejoin the parkway.

Eastbound motorists will take Exit 124 to Hwy 62 to Ring Road (Hwy 3005) to rejoin the parkway.

The work on the Hwy 222 bridge is expected to be complete by August 1.
