An assistant principal and athletic director at an eastern Kentucky elementary school has been indicted on nearly 20 child sex charges dating back at least 15 years.
The Kentucky Attorney General’s Office announced on Thursday that 50-year-old April Bradford, of Weeksbury (Floyd Co.), was indicted by a Floyd County Grand Jury on 11 counts of first-degree unlawful transaction with a minor, seven counts of third-degree sodomy and second-degree sodomy.
The indictment stems from claims made by two victims, according to the attorney general’s office. The alleged offenses occurred between 1997 and 2007.
Bradford was suspended several weeks ago after Floyd County Schools learned of the Kentucky State Police investigation.
Bradford was arrested and lodged in the Floyd County Detention Center but has since been released on bond.
