Louisville police homicide unit investigating death of small child in foster care

The Louisville Metro Police Department is investigating following the death of a child who was in foster care.

The investigation into the death of the seven-year-old child began Sunday. Police spokesman Aaron Ellis told WAVE.com the LMPD’s Homicide Unit is conducting the investigation.

The death occurred at Brooklawn Child and Family Services in Bashford Manor, off Goldsmith Lane and Bardstown Road. The facility is operated by Seven Counties Services.

The cause of death has not been released, as officials are awaiting autopsy results.
