Multi-county drug bust nets $2.5 million in meth, cocaine, heroin, fentanyl. 5 arrested.

An investigation by the Laurel County Sheriff’s Office and state and federal agencies has resulted in the seizure of over $2.5 million in methamphetamine, fentanyl pills, cocaine, and heroin.

According to Sheriff John Root, on Monday, deputies initiated an investigation that resulted in the seizure of 1.25 pounds of methamphetamine, several hundred fentanyl pills, cocaine, heroin, and marijuana “during a delivery to Laurel County.”

Police arrested 45-year-old Justin A. Cooper, 34-year-old Travis M. Jefferson and 43-year-old Christopher A. Brown, all of Lexington.

Following the seizure, the Laurel County Sheriff’s Office partnered with the DEA, FBI, and the Lexington Police Department to further the investigation and identify the source of the drugs. On Tuesday, those agencies executed a search warrant at a residence on Cambridge Drive in Lexington where police discovered 43 pounds of methamphetamine, 4.7 pounds of cocaine, approximately 19,000 dosage units of fentanyl, and nearly 31 grams of heroin. Multiple firearms were also seized.

Arrested at Cambridge Drive location were Ariadna Lemus-Fuentes, of Lexington, and Jose Alberto Valles-Espinoza, of Mexico.

All the suspects were lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center where they face federal and state drug trafficking and other charges.
