The driver escaped injury when a dump truck overturned in Leitchfield Friday morning.
The Leitchfield Police and Fire Departments and EMS responded to the accident in the 900 block of West White Oak Street (Hwy 62) at approximately 9:30 Friday morning.
Upon arriving at the scene, first responders said they found an Edmonson County Water System dump truck had been traveling on West White Oak when the vehicle drove off the shoulder of the road. The driver overcorrected, resulting in the truck flipping onto its side and coming to a stop in the middle of the westbound lane, as the truck’s load of gravel spilled onto the roadway.
The driver complained of leg pain but refused treatment at the scene. There were no other injuries reported.
Hydraulic fluid began leaking from the truck but Leitchfield fire personnel contained the liquid to the roadway before cleaning the spill.
