A former police officer in Paris has been sentenced to prison on child porn and molestation charges.
Christopher Livingood, 51, was sentenced to 30 years in prison in federal court in Lexington. He was arrested last year and charged with multiple counts of production of visual depictions involving a minor engaged in sexually explicit conduct and distribution of visual depictions of a minor engaged in sexually explicit conduct.
He pled guilty to the charges in May.
Livingood was federally charged after he used a messaging app to have conversations with a woman in Indiana about how he wanted to perform sexual acts on an infant, court records say, according to the Lexington Herald-Leader. He communicated with the woman for about 18 months.
Livingood, as part of his plea agreement, admitted to taking images of him sexually abusing an infant.
He is a former narcotics detective with the Paris Police Department.
Livingood was given the maximum sentence allowed under federal sentencing guidelines. He must serve at least 85 percent of his sentence.
