On Saturday, Kentucky State Police identified remains found on Ohio River’s Diamond Island, near Geneva, in Henderson County.
Police said the remains were those of 26-year-old Randall David Austin, Jr., of Evansville, Indiana. Austin’s body was discovered by a fisherman in August 2016. He had been reported missing in late 2015 by his family.
Officials said DNA testing helped investigators identify the remains.
The investigation into Austin’s death is ongoing.
