A Grayson County man has been airlifted after hitting a guardrail on Grayson Springs Road and becoming partially trapped.

Saturday night at approximately 6:15, Clarkson Police Officer Jordan Jones, Grayson County Deputy Justin Cockerel, the Clarkson and Leitchfield Fire Departments, and EMS responded to the single-vehicle crash in the 3800 block of Grayson Springs Road, just before the intersection of Peonia Road.

Upon arriving at the scene, first responders found that an eastbound Chevrolet truck, being driven by Dennis Higdon, of Clarkson, struck a guardrail as the vehicle was driving out of a downhill curve.

Higdon had to be extricated from the vehicle by Clarkson and Leitchfield firefighters, as well as other first responders. It took about 15 minutes to remove Higdon from the truck.

He was transported Owensboro Health Twin Lakes Medical Center before being airlifted to University of Louisville Hospital.
