A woman has been arrested after she sold heroin to a man who died in the bathroom of a Waffle House.

The Richmond Police Department arrested 33-year-old Amanda S. Hornsby, of Richmond, on Monday afternoon and charged her with second-degree manslaughter and trafficking in a controlled substance (heroin).

WKYT.com reports that the arrest citation says that on Monday Richmond police responded to the Waffle House at 220 Eastern Bypass after Carl Edwards was found deceased in the bathroom of the restaurant. Further investigation showed Edwards died from a heroin overdose.

Traces of the drug were found in the bathroom.

The investigation led police to Hornsby, who authorities said sold the heroin to Edwards at the restaurant.

Hornsby was lodged in the Madison County Detention Center.
