A young Breckinridge County man has died in two-vehicle accident.
Kentucky State Police said troopers responded to the crash Thursday morning at approximately 9:40 on Hwy 60 near Irvington.
Police said the preliminary investigation indicates a 2014 Honda passenger car, being driven by 21-year-old Jacob Gardner, of Irvington, was traveling west on Hwy 60 when an eastbound 2021 Mack Truck, being driven by 39-year-old Corey Calloway, of Rockport, Indiana, crossed the center line.
Police said Calloway tried “to steer back into his lane,” but the driver’s side rear portion of the truck struck the Honda.
The Breckinridge County Coroner’s Office pronounced Gardner deceased at the scene. He was a 2020 graduate of Breckinridge County High School.
