Post 4 troopers arrest over 250 suspects, open nearly 40 criminal cases, assist 115 stranded motorists during February

Kentucky State Police Post 4 in Elizabethtown has released its February Activity Report.

According KSP Post 4 Public Affairs Officer Scotty Sharp, troopers and detectives:

  • Wrote 1,767 citations and arrested 24 impaired drivers.
  • Opened 37 criminal cases, made 253 arrests and served 62 criminal court documents.
  • Cited 484 speeders and issued citations to 119 motorists for failure to wear a seat belt, with 13 citations issued for failure to use a child restraint seat.
  • Investigated 22 motor vehicle accidents and assisted 115 stranded motorists.
  • Gave 190 courtesy notices for minor traffic offenses.
  • Conducted 59 school and business security checks and answered 615 citizen complaints.
  • Were involved in 488 special details and conducted 10 community programs.

Sharp reminds motorists that KSP Post 4 troopers will conduct Road Safety Checkpoints as well as Speed Checkpoints throughout the eight county Post 4 coverage area during March and throughout the remainder of 2023.

Kentucky State Police Post 4 covers Hardin, Jefferson, Bullitt, Nelson, Meade, Breckinridge, LaRue, and Grayson counties.
