Raymon Earl Rose, age 75, of Leitchfield, KY, passed away Monday, (March 6, 2023) at Owensboro Health Twin Lakes in Leitchfield, KY. He was born on October 18, 1947 in Grayson County, KY, the son of the late Sherman Elder and Lida Johnson Rose.
He was a farmer and had retired from Walter T. Kelly Bee Company after working for 20 years as a sawyer, inspecting wood. Raymon was a huge fan of the Eagles, Chicago and Moody Blues music. He was very mechanical minded and loved to
work on radios, clocks, tractors and engines. Spending time with his family was very important to him. He married the love of his life, Kathlee Shaw Rose, on October 9, 1975. He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving during the Vietnam Conflict. He was a member of Shrewsbury Church of Christ.
He is survived by his wife, Kathlee Rose of Leitchfield; sons, Joshua Rose (Amanda) of Leitchfield and Andrew Rose (Katie) of Fairview, TN; grandchildren, Sid, JD, Izzi and Grey Rose; brother, Johnson Kent Rose and his son, Barry Rose; sister, Charlotte Pinson (Fred) and their daughter, Paige Pinson Stark: sister-in-law Merridee LaMantia (Joe); brothers-in-law, Ned Shaw and David Shaw (Anne); and many great-nieces and nephews.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister-in-law, Elizabeth Renfrow Rose and neice, Marcia Rose Shartzer.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, (March 9, 2023) at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Owen Saloman will be officiating. Burial will be in the Shrewsbury Cemetery.
Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday and from 9:00 a.m. Thursday until time of services.
