A Glasgow child riding a scooter has been seriously injured after being hit by a truck.

The 12-year-old child was riding a scooter west on Virginia Avenue in Glasgow on Wednesday afternoon when a 2008 Dodge truck, being driven south on Milton Avenue by Randall Carter, crashed into the child, according to a report by WBKO.com.

The victim was initially transported to T.J. Samson Community Hospital before being airlifted to Vanderbilt University Medical Center.

The Glasgow Police Department told the Bowling Green television station that there was “no indication of negligence” on the part of Carter. The investigation continues.
