
Kentucky State Police is investigating an officer-involved shooting in Harlan County.
State police said the Harlan Police Department responded Monday afternoon at approximately 1:45 to an apparent domestic dispute at a residence on Kelly Street.
Upon arriving at the scene, “a male individual presented a threat towards (officers),” with at least one officer firing at and striking and killing the man.
A female at the residence was airlifted to University of Kentucky Albert B. Chandler Hospital for treatment of injuries apparently sustained during the domestic dispute.
The Kentucky State Police Critical Incident Response Team is leading the investigation.
