A teenager has drowned at an eastern Kentucky lake.
The 16-year-old Magoffin County boy drowned Saturday at Paintsville Lake in Morgan County, multiple news outlets report. The boy was swimming with friends near the Lost Creek Boat Ramp.
Several agencies responded to the scene, including the Grayson Fire Department Dive Team and Wolfe County Search & Rescue Dive Team.
The investigation continues and is being led by Kentucky Fish & Wildlife personnel.
The teen’s body was transported to the state Medical Examiner’s Office in Frankfort for an autopsy.
Paintsville Lake is shared by Johnson and Morgan counties and is located in Paintsville Lake State Park.
