An Elizabethtown woman with a history of violent acts, and who is jailed in LaRue County, has been accused of tasing a deputy jailer.
Tiersa L. Revels, 29, was lodged in the LaRue County Detention Center on June 22 on resisting rest and failure to appear charges. On Saturday morning, as jail staff were attempting to move Revels into another cell, she became combative.
Revels, according to media reports, tried to punch one deputy jailer and grabbed at another deputy’s pepper spray. Then, she is accused of taking control of a deputy’s taser and tasing the deputy in the face.
The suspect was additionally charged with disarming a peace officer, third-degree assault (corrections employee) and attempted escape.
Revels has an arrest history that dates to 2011, according to online records, and includes charges for second-degree burglary, second-degree assault, first-degree unlawful imprisonment, felony wanton endangerment, fleeing or evading police (on foot), resisting arrest, and public intoxication (excludes alcohol).
She was convicted in Hardin County in October 2021 for first-degree wanton endangerment and first-degree unlawful imprisonment, both felonies, and sentenced to five years in prison, according to the Kentucky Department of Corrections.
Revels is on probation until December 2026.
