A second suspect has been arrested in a double murder at a Radcliff restaurant in late July.
The Radcliff Police Department and U.S. Marshals Service arrested 25-year-old Darien K. McGary, of Radcliff, Thursday evening. He was lodged in the Hardin County Detention Center where he’s been charged with two counts of murder and first-degree robbery. He’s being held on a $500,000 cash bond.
McGary and 33-year-old Rodshad Akeem Bowser-Highsmith, of Elizabethtown, are accused of shooting and killing 30-year-old Carlo Bello, of Radcliff, and 19-year-old Shane Estrada, of Vine Grove.
Bowser-Highsmith was arrested two days after the murders. He is also being held in the Hardin County Detention Center on a $500,000 cash bond.
Media reports indicate the arrest citation states that the suspects were seen (and heard) on surveillance video speaking with someone about stealing a gun from one of the victims. The News-Enterprise reports that, “At 3:49 a.m., Bowser-Highsmith assisted McGary in the plan of taking the firearm and, in the process, Bello and Estrada were shot and killed, according to the arrest citation.”
Bowser-Highsmith is also accused of shooting at customers who were leaving the restaurant.
